She is my Aunt Bill.

Always had a watermelon cooling in the root cellar for when we came to visit, and had me pluck the chicken for dinner! ;-) Was a big tease and walked from a limp, from a bad hip, I think.

She is the first born child of Richard Polk and Laura Ella McGahey Barker in what was Indian Territory, since Oklahoma wasn't a state yet.

In 1919 or 1920 She married David Kountz Threewit, to this union 3 children were born:
Carroll Lee Threewit (1921-1972)
Ella Jean Threewit Dobner (1925-2004)
David Kountz Threewit (1927-1973)

Her husband David died suddenly in a hospital while talking to family after having surgery. Died from a blood clot to the heart in 1943, leaving her a widow at age 41.

In about 1945-46 She married Sarhas Andrew Dekens. Who was a widower with children, as well.

They lived in Blythe, California. Had a lot of land and big thick walled house, that always stayed cool, no central air, in those days. In the 60's they got a summer home in Yarnell, and they became a rock hounds. They roamed the deserts looking for those special rocks, which became quite beautiful and made good jewelry.

Sadly by 1970's her mind began to go. Loss of her oldest son and a couple of years later learning her youngest son had died the year after his brother, I believe was to much. Uncle Deke had to put her in a nursing home in the late 1970's, after she got so bad. He was there all the time, but as the years took there toll, he too went into the nursing home in late 80's. He out lived her by only 10 months in 1990.
