One of the victims of the Hyatt Regency hotel skywalk collapse of July 17, 1981, that killed 114 and injured an additional 216 people. It was at the time the deadliest structural collapse in U.S. history. Coffey took his youngest daughter, age 11, to a tea dance being held in the hotel. Both died. He was a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel that served in the Vietnam War and was the vice president of a Leavenworth title firm. (Bio by: Jay Lance)
