Blaine J. Manocchio, 96, Altoona, died Monday at Altoona Hospital. He was born in Altoona to Dominic & Theresa (Bruno) Manocchio. He married Theresa Laraia and she died in December 1976. Survived by son, Richard Manocchio of Altoona; sister, Lena DeCriscio in Michigan; two brothers: Alfred C. Manocchio and John Manocchio; and stepgrandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers: Philip and Anthony, and daughter, Carol Vinglass. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Mr. Manocchio retired as a welder from the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was known as the "Keystone Kid." Many years ago, he enjoyed traveling by hopping trains throughout the USA and worked along the way. He collected postcards from all the cities he visited and enjoyed writing poetry about his adventures. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Santella Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2009, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Committal, Calvary Cemetery.
