A native of Leon County, Texas he had been a resident of Beaumont for the past eight years.
His parents, Bessie and Oliver Boykin; and twin brother, Harvey Dan Boykin, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his sister, Margaret Davidson; brother, Donnie Boykin and his wife Judith; aunts, Billie Cooper and her husband Gene, Ruby Holst and Mary Spence and many other loving family members.
