Mrs. John Billhymer's Suicide Was Deliberate
Additional particulars have been received here from the Walnut Grove community in White River township concerning the suicide of Mrs. John Billhymer, who drowned herself in a cistern at her home early Monday. The body was found by her husband and a neighbor after they searched for her for several hours. She had been dead for some time. There was only three feet of water in the cistern and she strangled herself by stooping over and holding her head under water. She had been in poor health for some time and during the last four weeks it was noticeable that her mind was deranged. She had attacks of despondecy and her speech indicated her failing mental conditions but the family did not surmise that she would take her life.
Mr. and Mrs. Billhymer moved to Walnut Grove about six years ago from Tipton county. The deceased was a member of the church at Omega and before her illness was an active worker in the church. She was the mother of one child, deceased. Surviving her are the husband and three brothers - W.T. Webb and George Webb of near Arcadia; Joshua Webb of Walnut Grove, and one sister, Mrs. Frank Mosbaugh, of Cicero. Before her marriage she was Elzina Webb.
