Erwin, May 11- The first child born in Unicoi County, after it was organized in 1876, is dead.

Mrs. B.M. Allred, 74 year old first native of Unicoi County died early Thursday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Bill Allen of Morganton, North Carolina. She was a former resident of Erwin and member of the First Christian Church.

A bronze plaque commemorating her birth may be seen on a building front on Nolichucky Avenue.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. W.D. "Bill" Allen of Morganton, North Carolina and Mrs. Curtis Gentry of Knoxville; three step daughters, Mrs. Ralph Tucker and Mrs. A. R. Carpenter of Erwin and Miss. Ann Allred of Athens; one sisters, Mrs. W.C. Toney of Fort Lauderdale Florida; two brothers, James C. Allred of Johnson City and George Scott Allred.
