HOWARD JACK BLANKENBECKLER was born July 28, 1911, in Tekamah, Nebraska, to Jack and Cora (Porter) Blankenbeckler. He passed away Thursday, February 15, 2007, at the Oakland Memorial Hospital in Oakland, Nebraska, at the age of 95 years.

The family lived in the Tekamah and Omaha areas during his childhood.

On August 12, 1937, Howard and Louise Warren were united in marriage at Wisner, Nebraska, Following their marriage, he traveled to California to make his fortune, but had to return to the Tekamah area after the fruit harvest. They lived in the Silver Creek area and he farmed with his brother, Les, and later farmed on his own. They moved to the Lyons area in 1948 and farmed until his retirement in 1982, when they moved off the farm and made their home in Lyons.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, three sisters, daughter-in-law, Carole Jeanne Blankenbeckler.

Survivors include his wife: Louise of Lyons; son: Dennis of Brady, Nebraska; two grandchildren: Jim Blankenbeckler and his wife, Karen, of Duvall, Washington, Lori Blankenbeckler of Maple Grove, Minnesota; five great grandchildren: Melissa, Kyle, Luke and Jace Blankenbeckler of Duvall, Washington and Danielle Bloomfield of Maple Grove, Minnesota.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Monday, February 19, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Decatur, Nebraska.

NO VISITATION.

BURIAL: Lyons Cemetery, Lyons Nebraska.
