B. E. "Ed" Jouette, Jr., 81, of Dayton passed away Monday, July 14, 2008 in Baytown after an extended illness. He was born April 13, 1927 in Forest Hill, to parents: Beverly Edward Jouette, Sr. and Ruth Butter Jouette, graduating from Forest Hill High School in 1945 and attended Louisiana Business College. He served in the Merchant Marines, had been a resident of Houston for many years where he was superintendent for Arco Chemical and a former Real Estate Broker. The Jouette family moved to Dayton in 1981 where he was owner and operator of The Trinity Valley Nursery, winning the hearts of all of his local customers. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved being with his family.

Services for Mr. Jouette will be 2 p.m., Friday, July 18, 2008 at Elwood Baptist Church in Forest Hill, Louisiana with Rev. Don Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Butters Cemetery in Forest Hill. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton, Texas.

Mr. Jouette was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson: Earnest A. Koehler, son-in-law: Michael Adrian, and his sister: Constance "Connie" Butter.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years: Duthel Fairchild Jouette of Dayton, Texas; his son: Steve Jouette and wife Donna of Dayton, Texas; his daughter: Pam Adrian of Forest Hill; his grandchildren: Jamie Nash, Misty Brock, Maggie Adrian, Stacey Allsbrooks, and Casey Jouette; his great-grandchildren: Emily Koehler, Isadora Adrian, Ella Brock, and one on the way; his brothers: Kelly Jouette of Forest Hill, and Carlos Jouette of Baton Rouge; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
