Mr. Maney lived in Rockford from 1939 until moving to Pompano in November, 1958.
Mr. Maney was born in 1886 in Empire, Wis. the son of Mr. & Mrs. James H. Maney. He attended schools in Fon du Lac, Wis. and served in the army in France during world war 1. After the war he operated a chain of bakery stores in Fon du Lac and later was regional manager of the bottled gas division of Skelly Oil co. before coming to Rockford.
He became a partner in the Johnson Appliance company in 1944. The business was incorporated in 1949 and became Johnson Maney Appliance company.
Mr. Maney left the business in April,1955 and became associated with the Halstead Realty company. More recently before moving to Pompano Beach, He was associated with the Commerical Mortage company.
He was a member of St. James Catholic church, past president of Greater Rockford Appliance dealers assocation, member of the Elks club and member of the American Legion in Fon du Lac.
Survivors include his widow the former Eleanor Harris, whom he was married to in Fon du Lac in October 1920; Daughter Mrs. Addison Riley, Rockford; three sons, James D.and John P., both of Rockford and Harris N., of Pompano Beach; a sister Mrs. Agnes Adams, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin; 2 step brothers, George Maney, Fon du Lac, and James, Oshkosh, Wis;, six neices and nephews and eight grandchildren;
