Oral history from family members say Frank left Germany as a stowaway by concealing himself in a barrel on a ship until they were on the high seas. He died of a heat stroke in his vineyard trimming vines. Some controversy on whether he was from Berlin or Hamburg. Records say he landed in New York in 2-22-1874 from Hamburg Germany on the ship Pommerania. He married Josephine Klaegar April 16, 1883 in Logan County, Arkansas. They had 6 children all born in Paris in Logan County, Arkansas: Josephine Angelena - Jan 30, 1885, Frank Joseph - Feb 28, 1887, Edward John - Dec 11, 1888, Lewis - Jan 21, 1890, Marie Ann Feb 23, 1895, and Amelia Mollie Oct 6, 1899.
