OBITUARY 1: Doss Turner

Doss Turner, who had been sick for several days at his home on West Main Street, died Monday afternoon shortly after 12 o'clock. He became sick with influenza and soon developed pneumonia, gradually sinking until the end came.

Doss was janitor at the County Court House at the time of his death and by his genial and sunny disposition made many friends. He was one of those rare individuals who seldom look upon the dark side of life and to be in his presence was always to enjoy a good laugh.

Besides his wife, who was Miss Alice Mackey, and three small children, he was survived by his father and two brothers and one sister. The father and one brother live at Hollywood and the other brother lives at Dalark, the sister, Mrs. L. Ham living on Red Hill.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at Rose Hill cemetery by Dr. W. R. Richardson."

Doss Turner - died today at 12:30 o'clock at his home on Main street of pneumonia, following an attack of influenza. Doss was taken sick with influenza on Saturday, January 31st, and soon after developed a serious case of pneunomia. It was thought yesterday that he was some better, but last night at midnight a change for the worse was noted and his decline was rapid until the end came today. He was nearing his thirty-fourth birthday. April first being his birthday.

During his many years as janitor at the court house Doss, by his ever pleasant and good natured disposition had made friends and acquaintances in every nook and corner of the county who will grieve with the relatives and family at his death.

Besides his wife and three small children the deceased is survived by his father, two brothers and one sister. The father and one brother, Cleve, reside at Hollywood. The other brother, Ike, is a resident of Dalark, and the sister, Mrs. Leander Ham, lives in the Red Hill settlement southt of this city.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at Rose Hill Cemetery."
