Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Route 2, Winnfield.
Mr. Allen was born in Natchitoches, March 6, 1884. He resided in Winn Parish for 35 years and was a farmer until a few years ago when he retired because of ill health.
At one time he was a member of the Woodmen of the World.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Joe S. Allen, of Winnfield; seven sons, Jack, Oree, Frank, and O. K., of Winnfield; Theo Allen of the U.S. Army in India; Joseph C. Allen of the U.S. Marines in the South Pacific; one daughter, Vivian, of Winnfield; two sisters and one brother.
