Charlie "Pecka" Jefferson Johnson, 82, of Charlottesville, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.


He was born in Nelson County, Virginia. on May 1, 1926 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie and Mary Johnson. He was educated in Nelson County school system. He then moved to Yancey Mills, Virginia. He worked for Yancey Lumber Company where he retired in his later years.

He was preceded in death by one daughter Margaret White and one sister Nancy Clark.

He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Gwen Taylor; a sister, Catherine Adams; three brothers, Lee, Ernest, and Harrison Taylor all of Charlottesville, VA.; three devoted nieces, Ida L. Adams of Richmond, Va., and Kim and Connie Taylor of Charlottesville, VA.; two devoted nephews, Donald and Sam Taylor of Charlottesville, VA.; two great great nieces; one devoted pet, scrappy and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Memorial service was held on Monday, March 30, 2009 at New Covenant Pentecostal Church with Bishop William Nowell officiating.
