Services for Mrs. Wells will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home with Jim Taylor officiating. Internment will be at the Buford Family Cemetery in Spring Hill. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and two hours prior to service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wells, 90, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at her granddaughter's home following a short illness. Born in Spring Hill, Tenn., she resided in Williamson County until moving to Lebanon in 1964 where she was a mother and homemaker, sharing her love, laughter and joy with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Powell Wells; sons, First Sgt. Tandy Wells, USMC and Harold "Grasshopper" Wells; granddaughter, Nila Hoyer; sisters, Viola Newcomb and Lillian Winchester; brother, M. C. Holland; and parents, Glenn and Stella Buford Holland. Survivors include sons, Perry (Geraldine) Wells and Danny (Pat) Wells; daughters, Frances (Emmett) Mangrum and Stella Wells George; grandchildren, Chris (Luther) Kelley, who served as special caretaker, Michael (Lori) Wells, Shane (Angie) Wells, Timmy Wells, Leanne (Jeff) Boone, Derek Taylor, Lee and Shelley George; great grandchildren, Nicole (Scott) Barber, Kolbe Wells, Ashley and Michael Wells, Justin and Hunter Wells; great great grandchild, Ryan Barber, along with four grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren living in Michigan; brother, Billy Holland; sisters, Annie Grace Russell and Mildred Hughes; several nieces and nephews, many extended family members, friends and neighbors and her beloved dog, Harley.
