Barbara J. Wintermute, 59, of Fort Atkinson, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at Fort Memorial Hospital. The former Barbara Shaw was born on May 26, 1944, in Fort Atkinson, daughter of the late Charles and Elaine (Dahnke) Shaw. On June 26, 1968, she married Dean Hallie Wintermute. A graduate of Fort Atkinson High School, Mrs. Wintermute had been employed at the former Moore Seafood and Larsen's Canning Co. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Surviving are her husband, Dean; two daughters, Victoria (Gary) Teubert and Deborah (Timothy) Miller, bother of Fort Atkinson; two grandchildren, Ashley and Melissa Kosloski; two stepgrandchildren, Jaleesa and Jefferey Larson; two brothers, Dennis (Betsey) Shaw of Burlington, Ill., and Gregory Shaw of South Beloit; two sisters, Susan (Loren) Thompson of Reeds Spring, Mo., and Carol Taylor of Rockford, Ill., and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Michael D. Duncan officiating. Following creamation, interment will take place in Hebron Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call to pay their respects at the church on Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. until time of service. Dunlap Memorial Home is assisting the family.
