Death of Mrs. P. H. Wintermute.
Mrs. Per H. Wintermute, whose serious condition was stated in The News, aged 59 years, died Sunday morning at 9:45, leaving her husband and two brothers, L. H. and W. R. Clapp. The latter lives in MilwaukeeThe two little girls in the Wintermute household were children of her brother, and one of them was adopted. She Short services were held in the in the residence on Market street last evening and the body was will leave this morning at 7 over the C & W. M. for Whitewater, Wisc., where the burial will be made. this is where here parents were intered. The body will be accompanied by Mr. Wintermute, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Clapp and at Milwaukee W. R. Clapp and wife will join the party. Mrs. Wintermute was born in Rock county, Wis., December 29, 1841. When she was quite young her parents moved to WhitewaterShe received an excellent education and for about seven years taught school in the vicinity. On December 2, 1868, she was married to Mr. Wintermute. They went at once to Milwaukee, and made that their home for nine years. April 2, 1877, they moved to Muskegon and have resided here ever since. She was a most devoted wife and her circle of friends was both a large and strong one, and wherever her presence has been known it will be sadly missed now that she is gone, -Muskegon (Mich.) News.
The sad event above recorded brings sincere sorrow to many of our Whitewater people, for Mrs. Wintermute was a lady of most estimable qualities and made many and warm friendswherever she lived. Besides the relatives above named the funeral today is attended by Mr.L. H. Beemer and Mr. and Mrs. Mannering De Wolf. Rev. E. C. Barnard conducts the services, at the Wintermute home. The burial will be at Hillside.
