Dennis R. Cyrus, 71, of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Rural Ferryville, Wisconsin, peacefully passed on after a long battle with cancer on Monday, April 20, 2009.

He was born in Crandon, Wisconsin, in 1938, the son of the late Daniel and Mavis Cyrus. He was also preceded in death by a baby sister, Lana.

He was life partner to Catherine Aubrey; stepfather to Devin Aubrey of Virginia; father of Lucas Cyrus, and his wife, Alexandra; "Papa" to Bradley and newly expected grandchild of Maryland; father of Donald Cyrus and his wife, Bridget, and "Papa Cy" to Delson Cyrus of Rural Ferryville, Wisconsin; brother of Betty, Justeen, Alice, Nola, Larry, Kay Sue, Beverly and Earl. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was a Friend to Many!

Dennis served his country proudly in the Army during the Re-Construction of Germany.

A small service was held at the family plot in Crandon, Wisconsin.
