He moved to Marinette in 1890 from Quebec, Canada where his father was building a mill. At this time he could not speak English. He recieved his medical degree from Rush Medical School and practiced medicine in Marinette, Marinette County, Wisconsin. He died of a coronary thrombosis. He was sick for 18 days. He died in St. Joseph-Lloyd Hospital, 1110 Tenth Avenue, Menominee, Menominee County, Michigan.
