WHITEWATER---Gustave H. Krohn, 80, died suddenly at 6 a.m. Monday in his home, 303 Milwaukee street. A real estate dealer here for the past 47 years, he was at one time a county supervisor representing Whitewater's First ward. In the early 1900s he was active in the Texas land boom, taking trainlads of buyers to Texas to look over the irrigated lands. Much of the lands that sold for $300 to $500 then are now worth $5,000 to $8,000 an acre because of oil. He was also associated with the Florida land boom in 1924, but during past years had confined himself to Wisconsin real estate dealing. Born March 28, 1871, at Home, Wis., the son of Herman and Hannah F. Keil Krohn, he was married Dec. 8, 1892, to Isabel Earles, Hebron, at Fort Atkinson. He worked as a buttermaker for John Marshall, Hebron, for five years then farmed for eight years before coming to Whitewater. Surviving are his wife, a brother Herman, Sullivan, and number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Skindingsrude and Leien funeral home, the Rev. A. L. Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Hebron cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Harvey, Harold and Willard Krohn, Harley Klitzkie, the Dale Dooge and Alvin Earles.
