A graveside service for Opal Katherine Phye Walling,96,will be 2pm Thursday,in the Mooreland Cemetery.The Reverend Jim Veal will officiate.Arrangements are by Billings Funeral Home.She was born August 6,1905,near Curtis to William Riley and Nora Ellen Matthews Phye;and died Monday,February 4,2002.She attended school at Hawkeye and Mooreland.On September 12,1921,she married Charles Arthur Walling in Woodward,Oklahoma.In 1962 she began work as a housekeeper for Mooreland Community Hospital,retiring in 1973.She was a member of the Triple M Club,First Christian Church and Mooreland American Legion Auxiliary.Surviving are one brother,Frank Phye;two grandsons;six great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren;and one daughter in law.She was preceded in death by her husband,one son,and four brothers.
