Nora M. White daughter of Henry C. and Matilda White, was born in Jackson county, Kansas, on Dec. 28, 1893. At the age of fourteen she started on the road that leads to Eternal Life, from which she never digressed or turned away.
On Jan. 10, 1917 she was united in marriage to Herbert H. Gruver of Soldier, Kansas. Her happy marriage was a very short one, lasting until May 24, 1918. All was done that skillful care and loving attention could accomplish to keep her here but it was not to be.
She leaves to mourn her loss a devoted husband, a little son one week old, father , mother four brothers, Mr. J. A. White of Kansas City, Mo., W . Roy White, Edmonton, Canada, Clyde A. White, Soldier, Kansas; and Ernest R. White of Holton, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. Harry Mitchell and Miss Edna White both of Holton, Kansas, besides a great host of friends and relatives.
Again the community is saddened by the passing of one of our number. The breaking up of a home is always deplorable, doubly so when it is caused by the death of a young mother, who had counted so much on a happy useful life here.
The husband and the infant son have the sympathy of all. The funeral was held at the Christian church Sunday afternoon, conducted by Elder Wiles. A large number of friends and relatives were in attendance. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. Burial was made in the Soldier cemetery. ---Soldier Clipper
