Kathryn S. Miles, 73, died Saturday, May 2, 2009, in Fort Worth.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Tuesday in The Drawing Room of Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home.
Memorials: Her memory may be honored with a gift to the Humane Society of North Texas, 1840 E. Lancaster Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76103; or The American Cancer Society , P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73123-1718.
Kathryn S. Miles was born Aug. 30, 1935, in Texarkana, Texas, to Harry Franklin Sullivan and Kathryn Lee Sullivan. She was a graduate of Atlanta High School in 1953, Lon Morris Junior College in 1955, and the University of Texas at Austin in 1957. An educator, she taught at Fort Worth Country Day School for many years, as well as Fort Worth Academy, and private tutoring.
She was a member of Arborlawn United Methodist Church, Fort Worth Medical Auxiliary, The Woman's Club of Fort Worth and its lecture club.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Irby Miles Jr.
Survivors: Husband of 49 years, Dr. Charles Irby Miles; daughters, Kathryn "Missy" Miles and Alice Jane Taylor; and a brother, John Sullivan.
