Marian was born on the southwest corner of Range Road and Davis Road St. Clair Twp, MI, called the old Sewart place at "Yankee Street" settled by Edmund Carleton in 1831, her 2nd great-grandfather. Marian lived in China Township until her death, at age 92, buried in Rosehill Cemetery, China, St. Clair MI. Marian was the youngest in her family and acquired generations of family documents from her father, Elwood. She was an avid writer, and corresponded with family members all her life, kept diaries that documented 80 years of St. Clair family history that resulted in grand daughter Jean documenting ancestors to the American Revolution through Jonathan Barron and Edmund Carleton, and joining the Mayflower Society through pilgrim John Howland who signed the Mayflower Compact.
