Elnora Elvina Lowe
Elnora Elvina LOWE, 81, a resident of Rochester and vicinity her entire life, died at 3:30 a.m. today in Dukes hospital at Peru where she had been a patient the past 19 days. She had been residing prior to that with her daughter, Mrs. Orla (Oneita) BARTHOLOMEW, 316 Washington street, Peru.
Mrs. Lowe, who had been in failing health the past three years, was born Aug. 25, 1875, near Tiosa, the daughter of John W. and Mary TAYLOR BLACK. She was married March 20, 1892, in Rochester, to James Bruce LOWE, who died Nov. 27, 1944.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Rochester and the Rebekah lodge.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bartholomew and Mrs. Harvey (Elva) CLARY, Rochester; one son, Ben LOWE, South Bend; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. One son and one daughter preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home here with the Rev. Donald DECKER officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. The body will rest at the funeral home, where friends may call after 7 o'clock tonight.
