Pat joined the Navy as an enlisted man, retired a Lcdr. Also had a successful career with Glamorgan Pipe and Lane Company. He met his wife, Karma Rae Albretsen (from Hyrum Utah) while they were both serving in the Navy at Great Lakes, Michigan. They were married in Crown Pointe, Indiana on 5 July 1952.
He enjoyed reading especially space novels. He was an electrician and could build anything. He enjoyed putting together puzzles and tinkering around in his workshop in his basement.
