Funeral service for Robert E. "Bob" Weilert will be 2 p.m., Thurs., May 7, at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Rev. Weldon Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wed. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
Bob died Sun., May 3, 2009, at St. John's Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 69.
The son of Edwin James and Leona Weilert was born March 23, 1940, in Illinois. In 1976, Bob moved to Claremore from Aurora, IL. Bob worked as a manager for Burgess-Norton and opened a tool and cutter grinding shop. On June 16, 1995, he married Sarah "Jean" Compton. Bob's passion was collecting old model cars, and he also enjoyed spending time at Grand Lake.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret; sister, Linay Wackelin; and granddaughter, Sierra Harrington.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jean of the home; sons: Jeff Ridge and wife, Kathy of Claremore, Rob Weilert and wife, Trish of Claremore, Eddie Weilert and wife, Lisa of Verdigris, Jason Weilert and wife, Kerrie of Owasso, David Weilert and wife, Mindy of Nowata, and Darin Weilert of Claremore; daughters: Becky Kays and husband, Joe of Claremore, Janet Yarnell and husband, Lynn of Claremore, and Rinay Broyles and husband, Jason of Broken Arrow; brother, Ronnie Weilert and wife, Geri of Plainview, IL; 24 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
