Nancy L. Rapp, 62, of Bloomington, died at 9:55 a.m. Friday (May 1, 2009) at her residence.

Nancy was born Aug. 1, 1946, in Joplin, Mo., the daughter of Henry Leo and Rachel F. Smith Martin.

She married Rus Hawkey on Feb. 10, 1965.

She married Roger L. Rapp on Jan. 20, 1980, in Bloomington. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Angie (Jeff) Griffin, Downs; two sons, Todd (Julie) Hawkey, Bloomington, and William Rapp, Canton; four grandchildren, Kadie and Cole Griffin and Brooke and Jake Hawkey; her constant companion, Hooch; and one brother, Floyd Hutchison; and two sisters, Rosemary Johnson and Sharon Bowling, all of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Ruth Peterson; and one brother, Raymond "Dick" Hutchison.

She was of the Lutheran faith.

Nancy loved plants and gardening and spending time in the sun. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was a lab tech, last working at Carle Clinic.

Nancy was a loving wife, mom, and grandma who was a friend to many and will be greatly missed.
