GRAFTON M. CORCORAN

Grafton M. Corcoran, 93, of Onaga, died Thursday, July 18, 2002, at the Golden Acres Nursing Center in Onaga.
He was born January 8, 1909, at Emmett, the son of Arthur J. and Marie Morrow Grafton. He graduated from Onaga High School in 1927.
Mr. Corcoran had worked for the Civilian Conservation Corporation in Minnesota from 1933 until 1936. He then moved to Junction City and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad from 1936 until 1942. He worked for Alvin Johnson at Johnson Delivery Service until he bought the business and renamed it Corcoran Delivery Service. He retired in 1972 and moved to Onaga in 1975.
He was a member of the Bucks Grove United Methodist Church.
He married Rowena E. Blanka on June 20, 1936, at Oskaloosa. She died August 22, 2000. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Arthur Corcoran, Orman Corcoran, Clyde Corcoran, and Robert "Glenn" Corcoran, and one sister, Mildred Gosshorn.
Survivors include two sons, Dana M. Corcoran, Wichita, and Jeffrey B. Corcoran, Hutchinson; one sister, Audrey Cole, Phoenix, Arizona; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m. Monday, at the Tessendorf-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga. Cremation followed the service with unurnment later in the Bucks Grove Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Onaga High School Alumni Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home.
