Ferdinand, former well known resident in the vicinity of Boyd died yesterday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Geist. Ferdinand was 73 years of age.
He came to the United States with his parents, Venanz & Anna Zelner Ramerth, when he was 17 years of age and located at Fulda, MN, where he married Miss Rosalie Renchin on September 18, 1881, and they later moved to a farm near Boyd. Ferdinand had been in poor health for some time and spent the winter at Tampa. FL, with a grandson, Francis Geist, returning to Boyd on May 25. His wife preceded him in death in August 1932 in Elberta, AL.
Surviving are seven children, Josephine Fliehr, Anna Geist and Mary Geist, who reside in Boyd, Ferdand Jr. of Englewood, SD, Edith Duckart of Modesto, CA, Katie Thorson of Cour de Lene, ID, and Carl of Harlingen, TX.
Ferdinand & Rosa resided near Boyd until 24 years ago when they went to Elita, TX, but after the death of Rosa, he returned to the Boyd country.
Funeral services were held Friday morning at 8:30 at St. Joseph's church in Boyd, Rev. Fr. Collins officiating.
