Ralph Leader, Sr. was born to Nathan Hammond Leader & Nellie Huddleston in Austin, Tx. His 1/2 brother was Morris Walton Leader, the Texas landscape artist. Ralph's mother died when he was young, his father was a painter by trade, teaching all his children the trade. At some point, Nathan took his two youngest sons and traveled with the carnival. Ralph became part of the entertainment in the carnival, either playing an instrument and/or as the Master of Ceremony when he was older. During the early part of the 1920's, he and wife Florence are in a troupe of carnival workers.
By 1930, Ralph was employed in the Oil industry as listed on the census. By 1937, Ralph was employed at the Rice Hotel, he retired as a Manager. Ralph had a retirement party at the Rice Hotel after 30 years of service in about 1967.
Ralph was preceded in death by his first wife Florence and son Ralph Leader, Jr. Survivors: 2nd wife Artie Weisser, daughter Earlene Leader of Houston, two grandchildren.
