Obituary. Julia V. Wilkerson Wooldridge, by Brett Conover.

At 9:20 A.M., Thursday, July 11, Mrs. Julia V. Wooldridge quietly passed from this life at her home near Sewellton after having attained the age of more than 88 years. She had been in declining health for some time, but was confined to her bed for only a few days.

Her passing removes one of the community's leading citizens. She took pride in her home work, always keeping things in order. No stranger ever left her door hungry, cooking became her hobby. She was a member of the Bethelehem Methodist Church, and was a regular attendant so long as her health permitted.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Rosa Williams, a son, Richard Wooldridge, two half brothers, Thomas and Nick Blankenship, as well as numerous other relatives, including nine grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Stanton Wooldridge, and one daughter, Stella Williams, preceded her to the grave several years ago.

Ms. Wooldridge was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, an accommodating neighbor, liked by all who knew her, and a woman who always believed in and stood for what she thought was right. Funeral services were conducted by Elder Walter McKinney Friday afternoon, July 12, 1946, at Bethelehem Church in a solemn, beautiful, and impressive manner. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery, with Rippetoe Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
Thank you Brett.
