Mrs. Lucy Ann Rowland, 79, died Thursday at her home, 3105 North 27th Street. She was a native of Ohio and had been in Tacoma 34 years. She was the widow of James H. Rowland, who helped to build the first sawmill at Aberdeen, where she went with her husband as a bride.
She was an active member of the Mason Methodist church and was associated with the 1912 club in Tacoma as a member for 25 years and was a charter member of the Aberdeen Pioneer society. She leaves a daughter, Edna Terry of the home; grandchildren, Betty Terry, Margaret Terry Lesher of Tacoma; Francis and Robert Terry of Chicago; Billie Bergreen of McMinnville, Ore., and Marjorie Bergreen of Portland, two great-grandchildren. Funeral announcement will be made by Buckly-King.
