Carol Ann Capuano Jack, 65, departed this life suddenly on Tuesday May 5, 2009 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. She was born October 11, 1943 to Alfred and Angela Capuano of Pelham Manor, NY. She is survived by her first true love and husband of 45 years, Paul "Buddy" Jack, a daughter Deborah Mathews of Lake City, a son Michael Jack (Heidi) of San Francisco, CA., a brother, Alfred Capuano (Marcia) of Palm Beach Gardens. She also leaves five beloved grandchildren, Kaitlyn Jones (Justin), Amberlyn, Jozef, and Matthew Gould. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Phyllis Griffith (Dick), Sharon Gardiner, and Sandy Henderson. Carol was hired by the Columbia County Board of Education. She was most recently employed at Lake City Middle School and retired in March of this year, after nineteen years of service. Family was an integral part of Carol's life. She loved to watch her son, as a youth, playing baseball and his artwork. She coached her daughter's youth softball team and enjoyed being a part of her grandchildren's activities; Kaitlyn's JROTC competition, Amberlyn's softball and cheerleading, Josef's youth football, baseball, basketball and speed skating competition, Matthew's youth football, baseball, and horse competition. She also enjoyed watching movies with her husband and grandchildren. Her grandchildren say they will miss most, "chillin in bed and rubbing our head when we were sick," Gardening, her pets, shopping, and Disney World/Epcot. Being the foundation of her household, she loved and was loved by all and will be missed greatly.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Carol Saturday at 2 p.m. at Columbia Baptist Church, located on S47 Lake City, FL. 3.6 miles south of I-75 overpass on the right side. In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to her favorite charity, Haven Hospice, 6037 West U.S. Highway 90, Lake City, FL (386)752-9191.
