NORTH BROOKFIELD - Wendell R. Buzzell, 66, of 56 Bigelow St., who owned a construction company , died Friday at home after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 45 years, Rose Marie (Morrison) Buzzell; two sons, Robert W. Buzzell of North Brookfield and Michael E. Buzzell of New Braintree; three daughters, Wanda E. Rodio and Susan D. Ford, both of North Brookfield, and June M. Moran of Warren; two sisters, Mary Morris and Barbara Heath, both in Connecticut; and 10 grandchildren. He was born in Sherman Mills, Maine, son of Ralph and Daisy (Dumbar) Buzzell, and lived here more than 45 years. He owned and operated Wendell R. Buzzell Construction Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1990. He previously worked for 18 years at R.T. Young Construction Co. in Oakham. He was a member and former deacon of First Congregational Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow in First Congregational Church, Main Street. After cremation, burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Calling hours at the Pillsbury Funeral Home, 44 Gilbert St., are 7 to 9 tonight. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational Church, Children's Building Fund, Main Street, North Brookfield 01535.
