The Puerto Rican wife of a Port Vue soldier was under a physician's care today following her collapse at receipt of a telegram announcing the death of her husband of less that five months in an airplane crash. Port Vue's first World War II fatality, the husband was Sergeant Harry E. Knight, 21, son of Mr. andn Mrs. John R. Knight with whom the young bride, the former Miss Rose Morales, of Isabelle, Puerto Rico, has been living since August.

Killed on Sept. 28

Sergeant Knight, radio operator in the Air Force, was killed on Sept. 28 in an airplane crash "in Latin-American territory" according to the telegram received today at the home, 696 Burbridge St., Port Vue. He was 21 years old on Sept. 16.

The young soldier, a 1939 graduate of McKeesport High School, was sent to Puerto Rico on Aug. 9, 1940. There he met Seniorita Morales, 17, born of Spanish parents, who was graduated from high school only last May. On May 4, she and Sergeant Knight were married. When her husband was ordered transferred to Latin-America, they completed arrangements for her to come to Port Vue to live with his parents. She flew from Puerto Rico to Miami, Fla., then made the rest of the trip here by train.

Sergeant Knight enlisted as a private in the Air Force on November 9, 1939, and was stationed at Langley Field, Va., until his transfer on April, 1940, to Scott Field, Ill. for instruction in radio work. Six weeks later, he was assigned to Chanute Field, Ill. following which he was sent to Puerto Rico.

The body cannot be returned to the United States, according to the telegram from the War Department until after the termination of hostilities. Besides his wife and parents, Sergeant Knight is survived by one brother and one sister.
