Kenneth Behan, son of Thomas and Mary Beatrice (Randy)Behan, enlisted in the Army on 18 August 1941 at Kelvin Grove, Brisbane.

Arriving in Singapore as a 2/26 Battalion Reinforcement, he was transferred to 2/29 Battalion, which had suffered huge losses at the Battle of Gemas.

A member of "H" Force, working in the Kannyu area, he contacted Berri Berri from which he died and was buried in Grave 52 at Kannyu Jungle Camp.

In 1946, his body was exhumed and reburied at Kanchanaburi War Cemetery.

He is commemorated in Australia at The Australian War Memorial, Canberra and The Ex-POW Memorial Wall, Ballarat, Victoria.
