The son of the late Roger M. and Kittie Goettel Acome, he was born August 12, 1947 in Margaretville, NY.
A veteran of the US Navy Seabees having served our country during the Vietnam War, he was active in the United Church of Roscoe, where he taught Sunday School. For many years, he and his loving wife were loving foster parents.
Survivors included his wife, Sandra Grevatt Acome at home, one daugher, Rebecca Jayne Acome and one son, Justin DeForest Acome at home; three sisters, Mary Rogers of Gaffney, SC. Kittie Bowers of Roscoe and Sarah VanGinhoven of Gibsonton, FL; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and foster children.
Visitation was held at the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY Funeral services were held in the United Church of Roscoe with the Rev. Bridgette LeConey officiating.
