Joe was born and raised in Sapulpa. He proudly serviced his country in the Navy from 1965 throught 1971. He married Jeri Dover and they raised two children, Fonda and Cody. Joe was a member of St. Patrick Church in Sand Springs. He was a hard worker and a loving father and husband.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph J. McCombs and Elsie Victoria McCombs. In addition, his sister, Rachel Joan McCombs of Sapulpa and his brother Kenneth William McCombs of Bartlett, Kansas.
He is survived by his ex-wife and best friend, Jeri McCombs; his children, Cody McCombs and Fonda Proctor. In addition, his grandchildren, Jonathan McCombs, Kailey McCombs and Joseph D. McCombs. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Joe was known for his infectious smile and kind nature. He will be deeply missed by many friends and family members. He was an inspiration to those who knew him as he handled his debilitating illness with dignity and always positive attitude. His favorite things in the world were spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. He also enjoyed helping people if he could and enjoying a meal with his friends.
