Fred D. BARR, 80, Talma, died at 9:14 p.m. Sunday in Parkview hospital, Plymouth, where he was admitted earlier that evening. Mr. Barr was born Nov. 4, 1897 at Talma to Burr and Elizabeth KESSLER BARR. He was a lifelong resident of Talma except for 25 years at Indiana Harbor and South Bend. His marriage was May 3, 1919, at Rochester to Fern ARTER, who died Feb. 19, 1973. Mr. Barr was a retired electrician, formerly with Inland Steel and was a member of the World War I Barracks, the VFW, Rochester Masonic lodge and the Manitou Moose lodge. He was a veteran of World War I and the Mexican border incident. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Betty) CHAPMAN, North Manchester; Mrs. Grover (Lois) EVERHART, Kingsport, Tenn., and Mrs. James (Juanita) WAGNER, Cape Coral, Fla.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Roy (Lois) HUBBARD, Rochester. Two sons preceded in death - Charles A. [BARR], in 1920 and William E. [BARR] in 1959. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev. Robert HECKMAN officiating. Burial will be in the Reichter cemetery, Talma. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Full military rites will be accorded by the Rochester VFW and the American Legion post.
