NEWPORT – Beulah Britten Garland, 96, of Newport died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, in a Newport hospital.
Born June 19, 1904, in Independence County, she was the daughter of Bill Bice and Louelle Bice. She was a self-employed restaurant owner and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Virgle Britten of Tuckerman; a daughter, Erma L. Johnston of Newport; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Christopher Hayden Britton; a son; and a daughter.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel in Newport. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Newport.
