Grace Hazel (Brown) Hibdon-Stambaugh, age 77, a resident of Belen, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 1, 2005. She was born on May 20, 1927, in Tooele, Utah, the daughter of Grace Hazel (Peak) and John Wells Brown. In 1993, she moved to New Mexico.
Grace was a member of the First Baptist Church in Los Chavez where she met her husband, Clyde Melvin Stambaugh. They were married in 2001.
She was the widow of John Wesley Hibdon, who passed away in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Cheryl Lynn Tibbetts, in 1992; and her great-grandson, Joshua Tibbetts in 1987.
Grace is survived by her husband, Clyde Stambaugh; her daughters, Cheryl and husband, Cliff Hibdon, of Los Lunas, Teresa and husband, Mark Burch, of Bosque Farms, and Karen Colenbaugh of Rio Communities; her son, Charles Avants and wife, Patti, of Los Lunas; her grandchildren, Michelle Tibbetts of Chico, CA, and Christian Morales of Los Lunas. She is also survived by Clyde's family whom she was close to and loved very much and by her many caring friends at the First Baptist Church.
She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, sense of humor and her radiance, which will follow her forever.
