Harriett was a daughter of Thomas McKee Ellis & Mary Witt Ellis. She married Calvin Taylor in 1856. Calvin Taylor who came to Dallas county around 1854. He entered the Confederate service in Capt. R.A. Rawlins company but became ill and had to return home. His brother Perry took his place. Calvin died in Forrest, Mississippi where he had gone to take a replacement horse to his brother.
