Cletus S. Mayer, 79, of Lancaster, formerly of York, died at 9:20 p.m. Friday at Community Hospital in Lancaster.
A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 24, at St. Mary's Cemetery, Spring Garden Township. There will be no viewing. The John W. Keffer Funeral Home Inc., 902 Mount Rose Ave., York, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Mayer was born in York. He was the son of the late William E. and Grace (Helfrich) Mayer.
Prior to retiring he was employed for 20 years by Wolf Supply Co. working in the Wrightsville, Gettysburg and York stores and later was employed by York County Lumber Co. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in York, the Catholic War Veterans Post No. 1190 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a life member of the Knights of Columbus No. 1530 and the York Fair Association.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary I. DiDonato of Middlesex, N.J.; two grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond Mayer of Cape Coral, Fla.
Officiating at the service will be Deacon Stephen Bankos. 04-09-93
