Werner Rites Thursday
MONTICELLO
- Joint services for Albert G. Werner, 89, and George A. Werner, 69, both of Reynolds, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home.
The elder Mr. Werner died at 3:40 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Lafayette. His nephew, George A. Werner, died Tuesday afternoon, also at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, after a two-year illness.
Albert Werner was born May 4, 1890, in Reynolds, the son of Gus and Pauline Heimlich Werner. A Reynolds resident his entire life, he was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church and a Veteran of World War I.
George Werner was born April 18, 1910, and was the adopted son of Gus and Pauline Werner. A farmer, he was also a lifetime Reynolds resident and a member of St. James Lutheran Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Pauline Werner, Reynolds, and Mrs. Rose Berkenpas, Lafayette.
The Rev. Darrel Hoerle will officiate at the funeral services. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery, Reynolds.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the St. James Lutheran Church.
