Deceased Name: Joseph H. Mayer Heavy equipment operator
WRIGHTSVILLE - Joseph H. Mayer, 71, of Wrightsville, died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday at York Hospital. He was the husband of Jean M. (Padgett) Mayer.

The service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Workinger-Semmel Funeral Home Inc., 849 E. Market St., York. Burial will be in St. Mary-St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.
Mr. Mayer was born Aug. 7, 1927, in York. He was the son of the late Charles Mayer.

He was a heavy equipment operator at H.G. Williams and C. J. Doutrick for 30 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge 148, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Mayer also is survived by two sons, David A. Mayer and Joseph G. Mayer, both of York; four grandsons; three brothers, Paul Mayer and Robert Mayer, both of York, and Charles Mayer of Ormond Beach, Fla.; and a sister, Anna Margaret Banks.

Officiating at the service will be the Rev. John J. Daya of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
