Betty was born in Shamrock, FL to J.W. and Bertie Driggers Mullis, who preceded her in death. She has lived in Newberry for 46 years. She and her husband, Grady W. Hartzog, were partners in the Badcock Home Furnishing Store in Newberry for 12 years. Betty loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. She also loved the Suwannee River, humming birds, and was an avid Gator fan. She was a Mary Kay Cosmetic consultant for 30 years.
Betty is survived by her husband of 53 years, Grady Webster Hartzog of Newberry; one daughter and her husband, Crystal M. Hartzog (Harvey E.) Hampton of Great Falls, Montana; three sons and their wives, C. Craig (Freida) Hartzog of Brunswick, GA; Carl Michael (Brenda Faith) Hartzog of Alachua, FL; Grady William (Rhonda Leigh) Hartzog of Trenton, FL; three brothers, James Mullis, Jesse Mullis, both of Mayo, FL, Wayne Mullis of Live Oak, FL; six sisters, Sallie Stone of Archer, FL, Minnie Kate Hatch of Mayo, FL, Allie Lou Corbin and Vonice Land of Old Town, FL, Sheila Mullis and Angela Mullis both of Orlando, FL, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening May 13th 2009 from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at Milam Funeral Home, 22405 W. Newberry Road. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 14th at 10:00 a.m., at the Milam Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Newberry Cemetery.
