From Monett, Mo. Times:
MRS. M. F. HALL DIES AT DAUGHTER'S HOME IN TULSA, OKLA.

Mother of Mrs. Joe Short of Rolla

A death mourned throughout the community is that of Mrs. Mary M. Hall, 81, wife of the late F. M. Hall, pioneer merchant of Monett, and the mother of Mayor V. B. Hall. Mrs. Hall succumbed to a long and trying illness of carcinoma at 5:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Martin Randolph, in Tulsa, Okla., where she had been visiting for several weeks. Had Mrs. Hall lived until April 25 she would have been 82 years old.

The funeral party will arrive here Thursday morning and funeral services will be held at two o'clock Friday afternoon from the Blankenship funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Fred W. Schmidtke, pastor of the First Methodist of which Mrs. Hall had been a member for many years. Rev. Ira E. Carney, pastor of the First Christian Church, will assist in the services. Burial will take place in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.

Mrs. Hall, quiet, energetic, and belying her age of nearly 82 years, devoted her life to her family, but found time to enjoy her friends as well. Her judgment on any matter, large or small, was considered the best that could be obtained, and her friends were numbered by all who knew her. She was generous to the needy, and her acts of kindness to the unfortunate could be numbered in the hundreds.

Mrs. Hall was born April 25, 1862, on a farm in Pulaski County, Missouri. She was married in that county to F. M. Hall 62 years ago. Later they moved to Hancock, Missouri, and in 1892 they came to Monett, to make their home. Mr. Hall, one of the pioneer merchants of this city, passed away in January 1929.

The Blankenship funeral home at 216 Second Street, where the last rites will be conducted Friday, was the original home of the Hall family, and their home for more than half a century.

Surviving Mrs. Hall are five daughters and three sons, who besides Mayor V. B. Hall, are: C. P. Hall of Drumright, Okla., Charles C. Hall of Sapulpa, Okla., Mrs. Lula Havens of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Joe Short of Rolla, Mo., Mrs. Martin Randolph of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. J. F. Shirley of Fort Worth, Texas, and Mrs. Phillip Finot of Indianapolis, Ind.

In respect to Mrs. Hall, the city offices will close all of Friday afternoon.
