He was born April 16, 1916, in Galesburg, the son of Julian Karl and Isal I. Rowen Aldrich. He married Jeanne Heitzman on June 25, 1942, in Dubuque, Iowa.
He is survived by one son, Thomas L. (Karen) Aldrich of Glenview; one daughter, Phyllis A. Gorman (Jim Ekblad) of Indian Head Park; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and two brothers.
He served in the Army from 1942 to 1945 during WWII in Europe.
He worked for the former May Company in the wholesale plumbing and heating department for 27 years. He retired in 1982. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1934. He attended Western Illinois University and Knox College. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He was a member of Central Congregational Church.
Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 18, in East Linwood Cemetery. The Rev. Kathryn Rust will officiate. Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel.
