Services for Curtis R. Beames, 62, of Herington will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the St. Paul Lutheran Church. The Rev. Robert Kloth will officiate. Mr. Beames died Monday, March 25, 1996 at his home in Herington aftera lengthy illness.
He was born March 20, 1934, at Belleville to Lester and Bernice Colwell Beames.
Mr. Beames graduated from Herington High School in 1952 and spent a tour of duty with the United States Air Force with service in Guam. He spent four years in the Air Force.
He was married to Elaine Klopfer on March 31, 1956, at Herington.
Mr. Beames was a retired service man for Greeley Gas Company, Herington, and was a member of the St. paul Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine of Herington; one son, Curtis Scott Beames of Greeley, Colo.; one daughter, Cheryl Scott of Herington; one brother, Leslie Earl Beames of Holton; and four grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery with Military honors by Fort Riley Personnel.
A visitation was held Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Puyear-Brockmeier Funeral Chapel.
Memorials have been requested to the Alzheimers Foundation, Dickinson County Hospice or the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
