VERNON L GREEN SR.
Lonaconing,Maryland --- Vernon (Mose) Leander Green Sr., 76, died July 26, 2004, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Oct. 23, 1927, in Detmold, Lonaconing, he was the son of the late Charles Lender Green and Mary Jane (Dawson) Green.
Mr. Green was a former employee of Orts Bakery in Midland and then Strohman Bakery in Cumberland. He was of Methodist faith.
He was a Detmold Dandy, a loyal Hank Williams fan, and loved playing his guitar, and has gone to Hillbilly Heaven,
He is preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his wife, Gloria (Neat) Green. Also surviving are two sons, Harry T. Green and wife Jolie, San Antonio, Texas and Vernon Leander Green Jr. and wife Judy, Midland; two grandchildren, Christy Kidwell and husband David, Lonaconing and Jessica Hamilton and husband Jamie, Lonaconing; one foster grandchild, Asa Parker Wells, San Antonio; two great-grandchildren, Landen and Logen Hamilton, Lonaconing; one sister, Margaret Whiteman, Detroit, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received at Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Homes, P.A., Lonaconing, Thursday, July 29, 2004, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted Friday, July 30, 2004, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Mortimore officiating.
Interment will be held at Green's Cemetery, Avilton, Lonaconing.
